Solar Images in Ha, CaK and WL (430nm) 25th May 2023

Post by Carbon60 »

Wow...a beautiful day and for a change the seeing conditions first thing were pretty good, thanks to a 'high' from the south west pushing the Jetstream away to the north.

My focus this morning was the various main active regions which I captured in Ha, CaK and WL at 430 nm.

AR 13310 in Ha in various formats:

As always, thanks for looking.

These are excellent Stu. The 430 was behaving well with the seeing. I'm guessing you used the 125mm for it?

A BIG WoW, Stuart. Each and every one of these are excellent and show a wealth of detail. They are so evenly matched I cannot pick a favorite. Each has a story to tell.

Two thumbs up!!

That's' an excellent collection of images Stu!

It's so nice when the seeing plays along.

Hi Mark,
Yes, it was the 125 mm at full aperture for a change, although I had to stop it down to 80mm for the CaK because of slower exposure speeds with the denser filter combo. At 430 nm on the Lacerta wedge the exposures are very fast at around 200us, which freezes out the worst effects of adverse seeing, of course. ;)

So much great stuff and captures. Of course, clouds are in my way here. I seem to constantly miss all the good stuff.
