H-alpha and H-beta SHG images with 80mm aperture -- May 26

Post by thesmiths »

I did a few experiments with different telescopes today and the conditions deteriorated as time went on. Here are are pair Hydrogen Balmer images -- H-alpha and H-beta -- which I took with my 80mm aperture, 600mm focal length refractor towards the end of the session. Click on the image to see at higher resolution (although the resolution is not as good as typical).

H-alpha (left) and H-beta (right) SHG images. ZWO 178MM camera.<br />H-alpha: 3ms exposure, gain 9%, 324fps, stack of 10. H-beta: 1ms exposure, gain 8%, 400fps, stack of 7.
