5-27-23. KSO High Cadence Realtime.

Post by DeepSolar64 »

This morning, a bit after 14:15 UTC I caught the Kanzelhohe Solar Observatory ( Austria ) still up and running their high cadence image feed which updates every 10 seconds in Ha, WLC and CaK. It's usually a minute off the clock or less so it's pretty much realtime. Check out the saved images!

No sun for me here today to set up my own equipment. I haven't even had a gap or thin place in the overcast cloud deck to use the SUNoculars through. We have a low pressure weather system coming out of the southeast that may give us heavy rain tonight and tomorrow.

Seize the Sun if you have a chance! I'll just sit back and drink some of my first batch of homemade wine. :-) 🍷

James

I am on the KSO realtime feed now. I'll post later after church. Thanks and you are welcome, Mark.

Btw, I couldn't resist and did a little mod on the 'mighty midget' - I was getting annoyed getting the sun in the eyepeice so added a spare coronado finder I had in my box of bits. I also have the continuum filter on the eyepeice which has sharpened things up considerably.

Mark,
That’s a nice little quick view setup. The Coronado finder is a nice addition and the 540nm filter will increase contrast and eliminate any chromatic aberration present. You might even think about re-painting the tube too.

Try imaging through it with your smartphone.

James.
