Hi Paul,

It took ages to load at my band width of 100mbps but it was worth waiting.

The best and most detailed animation I have ever seen,

May I ask why do you not make an AVI or MP4 instead of an animated GiF. AVI and MP4 load much quicker. Thanks.

regards Rainer

The very top of the top shelf! Absolutely gobsmacked. I never seen an animation this detailed in everyway, right down to the spicules. This deserves a SPOD! BravO.

WoW!!! That is amazing!! Beautiful work, Paul!!

Looking at the GOES plot on SpaceWeatherLive I don't see a flare listed at that time. Either GOES did not pick up a flare since it might have been just over the limb or this amazing liftoff is not flare related.

Here's the Udaipur India GONG Ha image of the event.

James. 😊 👍🏻👍🏻

good morning ,
Sorry, I can't understand the meaning of your sentence, I'm bad at English. This event is just above this protuberance

I almost missed it, I had been on the protu just below for 2 hours as it didn't move too much, I tried USB extension cords and when I plugged in the camera I shifted it and saw a fairly fine structure above (moreover you can see that the protu is offset from the view on gong) the most problematic was the autoguiding which prefers that the axes of the camera are well oriented.nord/south.

higher the fine structure

That's a spectacular catch.
banjo wrote: Sun May 28, 2023 7:16 am Sorry, I can't get good image quality in Mp4 with my software.
I've just converted your 120 MB GIF to a 14 MB MP4 video with the free tool FFMPEG using these parameters:
ffmpeg -r 15 -i 2023-05-27-12h08mn4--TU.gif -vf "crop=1416:1088:0:0" -vcodec h264 -pix_fmt yuv420p -vb 12000000 banjo.mp4
without a visible loss of quality - it's just the matter of using a sufficiently high video bitrate used (here: 12 Mbps). Give it a try (the parameters produce a video playable in most browsers); or if you like, I can send it to you.

My software:
Stackistry — an open-source cross-platform image stacker
ImPPG — stack post-processing and animation alignment

I'm going to try with your settings, can we see the live video or do we have to go through a link to put it in the message?
I use Pipp or Filmora for my recordings

Solarchat doesn't support embedding MP4 videos directly, you can only provide a link. On Stargazerslounge you can attach a video to a message and it will show in a player. On Cloudy Nights you can upload MP4s to your Photo Gallery and link to them in a post (the user is then redirected to the gallery, which shows a video player).
