5 hours 31 minutes timelapse of AR3310, 3311, 3312 and 3313 in H-Alpha 20th of May 2023

Post by arnedanielsen »

Dear friends,

Here are two 5 hours 31 minutes timelapses of AR3310, 3311, 3312 and 3313 in H-Alpha. Both timelapses are created from the same 978 recordings between 09:36 and 15:07UT on May 20th 2023. Each recording was 15 seconds long with a framerate of 45 (675 frames) and 5 seconds delay between each recording.

The recordings where obtained using a using a 90mm Coronado filter in front of a StellaMira 80mm ED f/10, Baader 35nm H-Alpha, BF15 w/Beloptik ITF and ZWO ASI-183mm mounted on a ZWO AM5 mount guided with Hinode SolarGuider.

The 200 frames from each recording was stacked in AutoStakkert!3 before they were aligned, sharpened and contrast stretched in ImPPG.

The frames was then cropped, resized to 2/3 and the animation was created in PIPP at 15fps effectively compressing the 5 hours 31 minutes of duration down to just 20 seconds.

This is so very, very good Arne. That looping flare in the first animation stole the show!

Very nice work. Fantastic pictures.
