Turi,
These are really nice. Did you use a standard barlow or a TV PowerMate on that last one? I don’t think I have ever seen a 4x barlow.

James.

Turi,
I notice photospheric granules within the light bridges that are breaking up the umbra of the westernmost large spot of AR13315 in your lower 4x PowerMate closeup. The light bridges merge like smaller tributary rivers to form a large " mouth " like great rivers running into the photospheric sea. The granules are eddies in that great river. The umbrae between the light bridges look like dark islands! I can also see umbral dots elsewhere within the umbra. While I have visually seen light bridges numerous times within the umbra of a spot I have never been able to pick up umbral dots. There's always a first time. It takes aperture, keen eyesight and very good seeing.

All are nice images but the lower one is truly great! And look how nice those granules are!! This image would look good in color.

Two thumbs up! Excellent work!! :hamster: :bow

James

Superb images! :bow

Would it be rude to suggest you need a 3x Barlow?
For those super close-ups when the seeing isn't quite perfect? ;)
