Timelapse of a little 7 min 'toot' from AR3315 in CaK

Post by nicspenceryork »

Hi all,
ImageNS 20230527 0804-0843 Sun CaK AR3315 timelapse little flare from penumbra by Nic Spencer, on Flickr
You can see a titchy C class flare (I think?) toot out of the edge of the penumbra of the big spot on the right in AR3315. Blink and you miss it!
Four firsts with this one, first time :
°doing a CaK timelapse,
°using the timelapse feature in FireCapture
°using batch processing in PS
°making an animation in PS

20230527 0804-0843 UT York
Mainly clear sky with a few wisps of low cloud, & unusually, no jet stream directly over.
SW Evostar 80ED DS Pro stopped down to 60mm
Lunt Ca-K B1200
ASI178MM
Cemax 2x Barlow
Celestron AVX
Hutech Hinode solar guider
39 x 25% of 30s (every 15s) stacked in AS!3 then processed in ImPPG, coloured & animated in PS.

Lovely detail there Nic. The ED80 at 60mm is an excellent performer in CaK, and with that barlow and imx178 there is great image sampling.

Superb animation and picture.

I do not look at the sky with the eyes of an astronomer, but of a person looking for the beauty of nature.
