Fulldisk mosaic 41 tiles under 5/5 seeing 31/05

Post by minhlead »

The seeing was even better today. So I tried again with new processing technique to save details in the spicules per Andy's suggestion.

Beautiful solar FD. I can imagine how much work goes into it.

Took me almost 3 hours of imaging and processing.

Good job but I like the Sun images better in positive and not inverted.

IMHO Inverted images really do not show the details as positive ones.

I find inverting make the proms and spicule easier to pull up without bringing out too much noise. But yeah, it's personal taste I guess. Big fan of your positive fulldisk.

Ha ha, thank guys.
It's really good to see your efforts are appreciated by others. Made you feel the labor was not in vain. I posted this somewhere else and people was like: That's one weird-looking tennis ball :(
Even the Astrophotography-oriented site like Astrobin there are few people who really understand and appreciate the beauty behind a solar image. Just look at the meh-looking IOTD solar images they rewarded recently. SPOD is much more prestige when it came to solar imaging IMO. Sad that the hobby is so niche :(

Hi

Thanks for bringing out the spicules as well.

A good image for comparing my visual experience to.

Good sharp details in the proms.

Cheers. Andrew.

Hi

Do you have an image 'the right way up'?

Cheers. Andrew.

Thanks Andy,
Honestly, I have no ideal what is the correct way up and how do you determine which way is north. How do you tell?

Hi

Sorry I meant a normal non-inverted image.

Thanks. Andrew.
