There were a few gaps in the clouds today so I pulled out my smaller SHG telescope (80mm aperture, 600mm focal length, Skywatcher 80ED) with the most recent iteration of my foamboard spectroheliograph. I used a 1200 l/mm 50mm x 50mm ruled grating. Instead of the typical UV/IR filter, I used a 2-inch Astronomik ProPlanet 807 filter.
I was only able to take 8 scans, of which 5 were usable. The new SHG setup still needs some fine tuning but the results are encouraging. Despite only using a 80mm aperture (2.7 arcsec resolution) and a quite low power diffraction grating (spectral resolution 0.42 angstrom), the fine structures look quite interesting. For links to my previous attempts, see viewtopic.php?t=41414. I suspect the 80ED doublet may actually work better than the APO triplet telescopes (80mm and 106mm) that I used previously.

Wow!! this is terrific! it is a little like a merge between Halpha and CaK. The CaK is very clear but so are the filaments
