Firewire 1394b to USB - any recommendations?

Post by JVannini »

Hello!

I hope everyone is doing (not "dogin" hehe) great :)

I would like to ask if anyone has attempted to connect a FireWire Grasshopper camera to Windows' USB ports? If so, what kind of adapter or cable may recoomend, please?

I have an old GRAS-20S4M-C that ran on Mac with AstroIIDC, but the laptop is now deceased. :(

Your comments will be greatly appreciated :)

I hope everyone is dogin great :)
I don't know what dogin means in where you're from, but here in UK it's a, er, ahem, slang term for "adult activities performed in semi-public, in view of others willing to observe and perhaps include themselves in said activities", I suppose you could call it. :P

Properly spelt "dogging" for those interested...

I've no experience doing such a thing (Firewire to USB nor dogin), but it's just adapters, male and female :D

Late to the solar party - April 2023. Missed 5 cycles. Much to learn. Much to spend.

Boxed for 15 years - Zenithstar 80, Skywatcher 150 f8, Celestron C9.25.
Now all have seen the Sun and demand I spend further, without regret.

Thank you for the correction, EdAstle :p

Yeah, it is a matter of connectors, but which one?

Regards!
