Full Disk Animation and faint proms 11/19/2023

Post by rigel123 »

Just now finishing up my first full disk animation. Boy that makes a big file! I used my Siebert Optics 1.6X Barlow so I had a little more room in the FOV of the Player One Saturn-M so not quite at critical sampling for the camera. It's a big file so I'll post the link to the Astrobin site for those that wish to explore the various parts of the disk. Also including a crop of the area with AR3490/91 where a lot of the action was and a separate animation of some very faint proms that were active on the NE limb. All animations are just over an hour in length. I also tried my hand at a little different processing on the full disk with the surface as a positive and the proms as a negative as others have posted. That will be it for imaging for a while as I go visit my son and his family for Thanksgiving and weather doesn't look to cooperative anyway but I'll be following those that do get a chance to post. Hope everyone has a great week!

Nice work, Warren. I prefer the closer views, but interesting to see the bigger picture overview.

Love all your animations, Warren. The full disk is very interesting, do not see much movement on the proms but good action on the chromosphere.

Thanks Franco, Eric and Kevin! I noticed that about most of the more prominent proms Franco, they are extremely quiescent.

Ah…yes..missed that. Looks great when examining the zoomed-in view. Nice work, Warren.

Although it slows down the fps and makes huge files I guess it is a way for me to not miss something else going on when I use a much smaller ROI.
