What about your weather for the Eclipse ?

Post by rsfoto »

Hi,

I have been following the weather since more then 14 days.

Today I am looking at 5 different weather forecast sites and the consensus is like below and since 3 days the forecast has been like see screenshot from Meteoblue below :o

The clouds during the eclipse will make my videos look more dramatic  like the Partial Sun Eclipse from October 14 2023

I have two choices. I can drive up to my hometown 3 hours away and stay with my sister in Ashland, OH where they get over 3 minutes of totality or stay down here and drive 45 minutes and get over 3 minutes of totality and the forecast keeps flipping back and forth as to which one is better. At this point Ashland is showing mainly cloudy in the morning and partly cloudy in the afternoon. The closer destination is showing partly cloudy all day with increasing clouds in the evening. I'll probably make the call Sunday morning!

If I remember for the 2017 eclipse some highways in USA were parking lots as the traffic was very high nothing was moving at all ¿?

32 degrees!

At least it doesn't say wall to wall sunshine for Sunday and Tuesday and cloudy on Monday, if it were in the UK the forecast would be like that.
Hopefully you should have a reasonably good chance.

Well, I still remember October 14 2023... I would say, let us stop talking about weather so we do not influence it

Looking better today except for the Cirrus filter... which dimms the imaging

Hi Alexandra,

I have a friend who is going to Melchor Muzquiz in the state of Coahuila, North Mexico, where the totality is 4m29s and the weather forecast looks exactly as you said. They rented a house there.
