08 Apr 2024 Total Eclipse White Light First Look

Post by telescopemaker »

I have to go celebrate. I shot though constant clouds, (70% sky covered) but managed to get dozens of photos. This is just one from early on. I will have to post tomorrow. I must go celebrate with alcohol and friends :D . I had eight people over using my binoculars and watching me while I took photos with two cameras.
Strong upper atmosphere winds, the skies were not good, but I made something happen. Only 60% max here

Congratulations Robert! Yours look really nice. Like you I shot through a lot of clouds through most of the eclipse. It was partial here in upstate SC. Roughly 80 percent. I’ll drink a toast to you a little later.

Nice shots Alfred! I think we all had to battle some clouds along the entire eclipse path! I fared better than my brother who went to Texas instead of staying at his house in Ohio which had much better weather! He did get to see totality though but just through breaks in the clouds, mine was just through some high, thin clouds.
