Active Region 13664 in WL (430nm) 9th May 2024

Post by Carbon60 »

After imaging the beautiful active region in Ha, I switched over to WL at 430 nm. The view was stunning.

Produced here in mono, blue and 'red/orange':

Thanks for looking.

Many thanks, Pedro. I appreciate your kind comments. I presume you're on the road somewhere away from home.

Exquisite. It was one of the most beautiful ARs I can remember seeing visually for a long time.

Many thanks, everyone. Much appreciated. Today is warm, but very hazy/cloudy, so no chance of imaging unless things improve later this afternoon. Tomorrow looks more promising.

Wow Stu these are gorgeous! I was lucky to catch it yesterday too and was grateful that my solarchat pals had got me set up with G Band kit and the 2.7x mag in time for this which is the biggest spot I’ve ever imaged. It literally took my breath away!
It’s processed nicely in mono and I also tried it in blue and yellow and dithered which was ‘right’! Posting both is a good idea as I suppose both are ‘true’.

Hey Stu,
I’ve come back to your image in G Band to see whether you have what I have and you do! There are G Band bright points I think!? Is that right?

Hi Nic,

Looks like it to me, although your G-band will have a narrower bandpass than mine (2nm vs my 10nm), so you should probably see more bright points/lanes than I did. :)
