Detached prom on May23, 2024

Post by gabrieli »

A deceptively clear blue sky happened just before noon here, with clouds staying away for the most part. Gusty wind was bothersome. I had no choice but to record aiming near my roof looking high eastward causing some turbulence in the image. I used my 127mm Stellarvue with a 135mm Baader
D ERF up front and a double stack module comprised of a 40mm Lunt etalon on the back end of a quark chromosphere giving a somewhat long back extension ending 10cm above the ground (I used an AVX mount with no leg extension). The main subject was the floating prom near a close lying filaprom which I recorded at 2 different ROIs.

Doesn't mean I know what I'm doing, though!
