May 26 2024. Lunt 8x32 WL SUNoculars.

Post by DeepSolar64 »

Today has been a busy and mostly cloudy day. After church and errands I finally got the sun between clouds in a mostly cloudy and hazy sky using my little Lunt 8x32 solar binoculars. The time was around 20:15 UTC and the temperature was a hot 88F ( 31.1C )

I could see five active regions on the white light Sun. Two in the northern hemisphere and three is the southern hemisphere. All labeled.

AR13691 could be seen as a large easy spot near the NE limb. Just to it's SW I could also see the much smaller spot of AR13690. I see nothing in the NW quadrant.

In the SW quadrant I can see AR13685 as two spots. A large one with a small one just to its SW. Close by to the NE, AR13686 could be seen as a small spot. The SE quadrant shows a single active region, this is AR13692 which could be seen as a single spot.

Carpe Lumen!!

James

Thanks and welcomes. I barely got a view in. I have predicted strong thunderstorms today.
