my apologies for the outage

Post by solarchat »

we experienced a very serious firewall issue early this morning and after hours of work, solarchat should be back online. I am very sorry for the frustration of typing out long posts only to get the Webknight error when trying to post.

There may be a couple more reboots this evening but it should be up and running.

ya, well its been a long 36 hours. One of our former members may have been behind this.

Anyway, there are still some foreign country IP addresses that cannot get passed the firewall so I am still rewriting firewall rules...

Ditto :(

It will let me start a new topic with just text, but if I try and insert an image (or put in the flickr code) I just get the security warning. If the post is more than a couple of lines long it wont let me post it :(

Re: my apologies for the outage

This has nothing to do with your computer this time. It is the firewall. A malicious force tripped all of the firewall settings on the entire NATCA servers from this forum. We have all the US IP addresses working correctly as that was NATCA's main concern. This forum is the only foreign IP's that come in to the system.

I have been working off and on with the server admin to get firewall rules rewritten to accept various IP.s Its just a long process, especially on a Weekend. I am very sorry for the delays.

It would help that if you have a specific problem, you could send me an email to sramsden at natca dot net with your IP address and the specific post that caused the rejection.
